I can’t stress how important it is to get a vet check done on a horse you wish to buy... The vet will issue a written report to you. You can also ask the vet whether the horse will be physically suitable for the discipline that you want to use the horse for... The vet will look at the horse's structure and determine whether his feet and bone structure are suitable for what you wish to do with the horse. He’ll also be able to point out any imperfections. He’ll check the horse's vital signs and check for lameness after being exercised. He’ll check the horse's teeth to see if they correspond to the age the seller claims the horse to be and he’ll also look to see whether the equine's teeth have been maintained. Essentially the vet will check the horse's conformation, movement and soundness, wind, gut sounds, heart and lungs, eyesight and hearing. Park is open year-round and the Rogers Pass Information Centre is open 5 days a week. There are 2 campgrounds in the park containing 77 campsites. Glacier also has some designated backcountry camping areas as well as areas where random camping is allowed. Backcountry campers are not required to register, however there is a voluntary registration program. Visitors should check with the park in advance of their trip to find out what services are provided. Visitors overnighting in the backcountry are required to purchase Wilderness Passes(based on the number of nights stayed), this in addition to a daily park pass. The Rogers Pass Information Centre is the main interpretive and general information centre for Glacier National Park. The Rogers Pass Information Centre is located in the heart of the park. It is 70 kms east of Revelstoke, B. C. and 80 kms west of Golden, B. C. A defect found in logs that have been exposed to sun or wind for a long period of time. Sun dries out the wood, causing deep checks on the ends of the log. Heart check, caused by wind, is a radial split along the rays that pass through the center of the log. Weather check is found in logs cut from dead trees.
