Hunter-trapper fire. This is the all-around cooking fire without an equal. It has been so regarded since first the pioneer stepped foot on the American continent, and it is still the favourite today. Save for one thing--it takes wood aplenty, and in some places wood is becoming increasingly scarce. But there are variants and modifications for such a scarcity. 1, record 10, English, - hunter%2Dtrapper%20fire

What are the advantages of the hunter-trapper? The side-logs confine the heat without exposing it to all outdoors, radiating it upward onto the utensils, and at the same time offer support for the pots without the trouble or erecting a lug-pole or crane... When wood is scarce and side-logs are not to be found or it is not wise to burn them, stones may be substituted--a row of large stones along each side, or many small ones built up to a height of five or six inches. 1, record 10, English, - hunter%2Dtrapper%20fire

The Ausroc 3(A3) launch vehicle has a liquid fuelled motor that burns JA-1 kerosene with liquid oxygen, and uses regenerative cooling. The motor produces 35 kN at sea level and has a burn time of 80 seconds. The motor is gimballed to facilitate pitch and yaw control. The wall of the combustion chamber, throat and expansion nozzle consists of 102 stainless steel tubes stacked side by side running parallel to the motor axis. The tubes will be brazed together and the assembly wrapped in a carbon fibre composite. The composite wrapping is used to relieve to tubes of the hoop stress generated by the combustion pressure(2 MPa), whilst the tubes contain the combustion heat(3500 K). The top end of the motor has a kerosene inlet manifolt, oxygen dome and injector block. The kerosene inlet manifold delivers kerosene to every second motor tube, where it travels down to the arse end of the motor. Here it enters the lower kerosene manifold which is a simple plenum ring. This allows the kerosene to flow into the other alternate tubes which deliver it back up to the inlet manifold. The inlet manifold then directs the kerosene to the injector block, which sprays it and the liquid oxygen into the combustion chamber. 2, record 14, English, - liquid%20fuelled%20motor

The National Earth Comfort Program is a collaborative effort between the US Department of Energy, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and private sector organizations interested in promoting the growth of energy-efficient, environmentally friendly heating and cooling technology. The GHPC' s specific area of interest is in increasing the use of GeoExchange technology for both commercial and residential heating and cooling. GeoExchange systems use the earth's renewable energy to provide heating in winter, and cooling in summer, with energy consomption 25% to 50% less than traditional oil, natural gas, and electric heat pump systems. Moreover because GeoExchange systems burn no fossil fuels in creating heat, they reduce greenhouse gas emissions substantially, and eliminate a source of carbon monoxide inside the homes and commercial buildings where they’re used. 1, record 17, English, - Geothermal%20Heat%20Pump%20Consortium

Densified Pellet Technology. Pellets are dried ground wood or other biomass waste compressed into small cylinders about 6 mm(1/4 in.) in diameter and 25 mm(1 in.) long. The pressure and heat created during their production binds the pellets together without the need for additives. Pellet-burning appliances include a hopper to hold at least 20 kg of fuel and a screw auger to move the pellets from the hopper into the combustion chamber. Pellets usually burn cleanly because they are fed to the combustion chamber at a controlled rate and are matched with the right amount of combustion air. These appliances are generally able to operate at lower emission levels than natural firewood appliances. 2, record 19, English, - densified%20pellet

By Fuel Used. Boilers may be designed to burn coal, wood, various grades of fuel oil, various types of fuel gas, or to operate as electric boilers. A boiler designed for one specific fuel type may not be convertible to another type of fuel. Some boiler designs can be adapted to burn coal, oil or gas. Several designs allow firing with oil or gas by burner conversion or by using a dual fuel burner.... Efficiency of fuel burning boilers is defined in two ways : combustion efficiency and overall efficiency. Electric boilers are, of course, nearly 100% efficient in transferring heat within the boiler. 1, record 27, English, - fuel%20burning%20boiler
