The set point theory [is] arguably the most influential and debated theory of body weight control. It suggests that like temperature in a room controlled by a thermostat, body weight(or body fat) is controlled by an equivalent device(ponderostat, adipostat) residing in the hypothalamus. Borrowing from the engineering vocabulary, this device receives feedback input from the controlled parameter(room temperature, body weight or body fat), and generates an error signal in a comparator if this feedback signal is deviating from a preset reference value(set point). The error signal is used to turn up or down any mechanisms that determine the level of the controlled parameter(heat production or dissipation in the case of room temperature, metabolizable energy-in or energy lost in the case of body weight/adiposity). 4, record 1, English, - ponderostat

2, record 1, French, - pond%C3%A9rostat

Rather than being sawn from a log, engineered wood is made from pieces that have been peeled, chipped or sliced, and bonded together with glue under pressure and heat. Engineered wood products can typically carry nearly twice the load of an equivalent sawn piece of wood. 6, record 6, English, - engineered%20wood

3, record 6, French, - bois%20d%27ing%C3%A9nierie

Freezing rain, freezing drizzle and mixed conditions may result in extreme ice build-up on protected surfaces exceeding the capability of the ice protection system. Freezing rain, freezing drizzle, mixed conditions and descent into icing clouds from above freezing temperatures may result in runback ice forming beyond protected surfaces. This ice cannot be shed and it may seriously degrade performance and control of the airplane. 4, record 11, English, - runback%20ice

In recent years, fluidized bed combustion of biomass has become commercial practice. Two types of combustors have been developed :(1) the conventional dense-phase or bubbling bed combustor, and(2) the circulating fluidized bed combustor. Fluidized bed combustors offer several advantages. There is a high mass of inert material in the combustor, capable of absorbing energy from fuels that combust in a highly volatile fashion. The bed media contain sufficient energy that very wet fuels(e. g., 65% MCg) can be burned successfully.... Conventional dense-phase fluidized bed systems have grate release levels in the vicinity of 5. 6 GJ/m2 grate equivalent and 470 MJ/m3 of volume(Envirosphere, 1980). Rates of heat release for circulating fluidized beds are somewhat higher. 1, record 15, English, - bubbling%20bed%20combustor
