HEAT PROCESSING SYSTEM [4 records]

Record 1 2024-12-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Industrial Tools and Equipment
  • Collaboration with the FAO
CONT

Steam supply to the thermal processing system should be adequate to the extent needed to ensure that sufficient steam pressure is maintained during thermal processing, regardless of other demands for steam by the plant.

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Herramientas y equipo industriales
  • Colaboración con la FAO
CONT

Cuando los alimentos envasados se colocan en el interior del dispositivo de tratamiento térmico existe un periodo de inducción antes de que la temperatura del alimento empiece a aumentar.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Cheese and Dairy Products
  • Beverages
CONT

"Our success with orange juice has created an opportunity to apply the technology to less acidic fruit and vegetable juices. In addition, we see a growing trend in dairy-based foods which will also benefit from Better Than Fresh TM processing. "Carbon dioxide has been used for years to extend the shelf life of dairy products such as cottage cheese when trace amounts are sparged into product. Praxair's recent testing with its dense-phase CO2 system is producing consistent results including the finding that with the dense-phase CO2 process, the number of spoilage microorganisms is greatly reduced allowing for extended shelf life without subjecting product to detrimental levels of heat in thermal pasteurization.

Record 3 2001-10-04

English

Subject field(s)
  • Biological Sciences
DEF

Removal of suspended particulate material from a solution. It may be a necessary part of either pre-or post-fermentation processing of feed solutions or product streams : for example, where byproducts of food processing, such as molasses, are used as feed... Removal of particulate material may be necessary to reduce the solids load passing through the system, in order to reduce fouling of heat exchangers in particular, to increase the purity of the final product, to remove potential inhibitory materials or to recover a desired product.

CONT

The methods of clarification include gravity sedimentation, centrifugal sedimentation, filtration, and magnetic separation. Clarification differs from other applications of these mechanical separation techniques by the low solid content of the suspension to be clarified (usually less than 0.2%) and the substantial completion of the particle removal.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Sciences biologiques
DEF

Opération consistant à rendre limpide un liquide qui contient des particules en suspension. (Pour ce faire, on utilise la filtration, la fermentation, la chaleur, des résines échangeuses d'ions, des matières englobantes ou adsorbantes.)

English

Subject field(s)
  • Energy Transformation
  • Combustion and Fuels (Fireplaces)
  • Biomass Energy
CONT

Forestry Biomass Conversion Technologies .... Principal conversion technologies .... Direct Combustion. The most common method of recovering energy from wood is to simply burn the material in an excess of air and utilize the heat so produced.

CONT

Biomass-to-energy system falls to two principal categories : materials for direct combustion, that will generate heat for processing, for warming, living and working spaces, for steam and hence also for generating electricity; and materials from which both fuels and chemicals can be obtained through biochemical conversion processes.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Transformation de l'énergie
  • Combustion et combustibles (Foyers)
  • Énergie de la biomasse
CONT
