The Brandon Humane Society has been in operation since 1946 when it was founded by Eleanor Kidd. She originally housed the shelter in her garage on 13th Street, then in an abandoned stable near Empress Bay, and later in an old barn near the riverbank where Eleanor Kidd Gardens are now located. In 1997, the shelter moved to its new premises at 2200 17th Street East. These days, our residents-both cats and dogs-live in a comfortable building with heat and air conditioning, two large exercise yards, an enclosed cat patio, and enough kennels for 20 cats and 13 dogs. When our kennels are full, our dedicated volunteers foster animals in their own homes. Since this is a no-kill shelter, the atmosphere is very positive... our animals are loved and well cared for as they wait to be adopted. We invite you to come visit us and see for yourself! Our Mandate. The Brandon Humane Society's constitution states that the Society :-has the primary purpose of providing aid and assistance to companion animals,-will accept unwanted companion animals into the shelter when space is available,-will make every effort to find homes for animals in our care,-and will educate the public on companion animal needs, especially the importance of sterilization. 3, record 3, English, - Brandon%20Humane%20Society

The use of heat stable enzymes can retard the staling of baked and leavened cereal products such as bread. A concentrated protective sugar medium has been developed to solubilize or disperse a fungal alpha-amylase enzyme before it is incorporated in a dough. This medium protects the enzymes against thermal denaturation, thereby enabling the enzyme to remain active during baking and until the starch of the dough becomes gelatinized and subject to enzyme attack. 2, record 8, English, - heat%20stable%20enzyme
