Air taxiway markers shall be located along the centre line of the air taxiway and shall be spaced at intervals of not more than 30 m on straight sections and 15 m on curves. An air taxiway marker shall be frangible and when installed shall not exceed 35 cm above ground or snow level. The surface of the marker as viewed by the pilot shall be a rectangle with a height to width ratio of approximately 3 to 1 and shall have a minimum area of 150 cm2. An air taxiway marker shall be divided into three equal, horizontal bands coloured yellow, green and yellow, respectively. If the air taxiway is to be used at night, the markers shall be internally illuminated or retro-reflective.

Elles apparaîtront au pilote sous la forme d’un rectangle offrant un rapport hauteur-largeur d'environ 3/1 avec une aire apparente minimale de 150 cm2. Les balises de voie de circulation en vol rasant présenteront trois bandes horizontales d'égale largeur et de couleurs alternées, jaune, vert et jaune. Si la voie de circulation doit être utilisée de nuit, les balises seront éclairées de l'intérieur ou rétroréfléchissantes.

A marker beacon used with an instrument landing system(ILS)(CAT [clear air turbulence] II) precision approach located between the middle marker and the end of the ILS runway, transmitting a radiation pattern keyed at six dots per second and indicating to the pilot, both aurally and visually, that he/she is at the designated decision height(DH), normally 100 ft above the touchdown zone elevation, on the ILS CAT II approach.
