Body roundness index (BRI) is [an] anthropometric index developed to predict both body fat and the percentage of visceral adipose tissue. 2, record 1, English, - body%20roundness%20index
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Body roundness index(BRI) might be a more accurate measurement than body mass index(BMI) for predicting weight-related health risks... BMI has long been the standard to classify a person's body weight as too low, normal, overweight, or obese. While BMI often reflects a person's body fat amount, it doesn’t account for fat distribution or the amount of muscle mass.... BRI addresses these shortcomings by focusing on a person's height, waist size, and hip size. By taking weight out of the equation, BRI provides a better indicator of how much belly fat(visceral fat) surrounds the organs inside the abdomen. High amounts of belly fat are linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. 3, record 1, English, - body%20roundness%20index

Anthropometric measurements are quantitative measurements of the body, for which non-invasive tools and methods exist. In the paediatric population, anthropometric values are used to determine development and health status of the child ... In adults, such measurements can help to assess health and nutritional status, as well as potential risk factors for diseases, such as obesity ... In athletes, assessing body composition plays a key role in monitoring performance and training routines, especially in weight class and aesthetic sports ... 2, record 2, English, - anthropometric%20measurement

3, record 11, French, - vert%C3%A8bre%20cun%C3%A9iforme

Some water level recorders utilize a float on the surface of the water which is attached to a moveable gear in the recorder. A rise or fall of the water surface causes the float to rise or fall. This rotates the gear and the movement is recorded. Other water level gauges monitor either relative or absolute pressure at a point under the water surface. This pressure measurement can then be converted to height of the water surface. Still other water level recorders monitor the travel time of sound waves generated and received at a point above the water surface. This travel time can then be converted to the height of the water surface. 3, record 12, English, - water%2Dstage%20recorder

Laser Position Measurement. A commercially available position measuring device, Lasernet, was donated by the Namco Controls Corporation. A single narrow-beam laser is continuously swept across the field at a fixed height. A reflector of known geometry on the vehicle reflects the beam back to the device, which reports the initial angle, in the local geographic frame, at which a reflection is detected and the angular width over which the reflection is continuously detected. Knowing the geometry of the reflector, which should be independent of the heading of the aircraft, is sufficient to determine the vehicle's two-dimensional position in the local geographic frame. 1, record 13, English, - position%20measuring%20device

Originally the common book trade designation of sizes was based on the size of a sheet of paper. When folded once to make two leaves(four pages), it was a folio; when folded twice to make four leaves(eight pages), it was a quarto; when folded to eight leaves(sixteen pages), an octavo; when folded to sixteen leaves(thirty-two pages), a sixteenmo, etc. However, today book sizes almost invariably refer to a measurement, in centimeters, of the height of the binding, not the size of the leaf. 2, record 22, English, - book%20size
