There is no limitation over the dominion of maritime territory. A bay or gulf, no matter how large, that cannot be held to be part of an open ocean highway is considered to be the maritime territory of the nation which occupies its shores, as, for example, the Gulf of St. Lawrence would be the maritime territory of Canada. A strait, of which both shores are within a national boundary, is also considered to be maritime territory, and the passage of foreign ships through it can be forbidden. But where the two shores of a strait are held by different countries, as for example Britain and France in the case of the Straits of Dover, the water between the shores cannot be claimed as maritime territory by either nation but is an international ocean highway. 1, record 22, English, - maritime%20territory

Private Conveyancing-This is a system of conveying interests in land without recourse to any public records. When a vendor is selling to a purchaser, he simply hands over the title deeds of all his predecessors in title, as well as a deed from himself to the purchaser. If the purchaser is satisfied with the chain of title, the transaction is completed. The purchaser in a private conveyance(as in the registry system) can acquire only the title the vendor held, which depends on the title held by the vendor's predecessors.("An Introduction to Property Law in the Maritime Provinces", 1981, amended to July, 1987, p. 59). 1, record 33, English, - private%20conveyancing

Incorporeal hereditaments are intangibles; they are rights which were regarded as real property rather than personalty because of their close affinity with land, being rights over or in respect of land. Incorporeal hereditaments are capable of being held for an estate or interest in the same way that land may be. The main examples... are easements, "profits à prendre" and rent charges. It has been pointed out that the distinction between corporeal and incorporeal hereditaments is meaningless and confusing in that, in law, a property interest is only a right of ownership which, as a right, is incorporeal, never corporeal, although the object of the right may be either corporeal or incorporeal. However, the distinction is one that remains in common usage....(Anger and Honsberger, 2nd ed., 1985, p. 11). 1, record 35, English, - incorporeal%20hereditament

The two principal means of limiting rotor power in high operational wind speeds-stall regulation and pitch regulation... Stall regulated machines require speed regulation. As wind speed increases, providing the rotor speed is held constant, flow angles over the blade sections... The blades become increasingly stalled and this limits power to acceptable levels without any additional active control. For this to work, the speed of the WT [wind turbine] rotor must be held essentially constant and this is achieved through the connection of the electric generator to the grid. 4, record 39, English, - stall%20regulation

The Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community(CARICOM), at its twenty-Second Meeting held in Nasau, The Bahamas in July last year, expressed concern over the new forms of crime and violence that continue to pose threats to the Region's security. The new forms of crime have implications for individual safety and the social and economic well-being of the Region as a whole. The Heads agreed to establish a Regional Task Force on Crime and Security to examine the major causes of crime, and to recommend approaches to deal with the inter-related problems of crime, illicit drugs and firearms, as well as terrorism. 1, record 56, English, - Regional%20Task%20Force%20on%20Crime%20and%20Security

From January to March 1986 a major field project, the Genesis of Atlantic Lows Experiment(GALE), was held off the eastern seaboard of the United States... The objective of the experiment was to improve the understanding of the genesis and development of winter storms in the region. A crucial component of the experiment was the documentation of air-sea interaction that takes place as cold and dry continental airflows over the warm surface waters of the Gulf Stream. To accomplish this, eight instrumented buoys were deployed offshore of North and South Carolina, and two research vessels were tasked with making measurements of surface and subsurface temperatures, salinities, and currents. 5, record 83, English, - Genesis%20of%20Atlantic%20Lows%20Experiment

... the nailing of wooden shingles and slates are entirely different. The heads of slating nails should just touch the slate and should not be driven "home" or draw the slate, but left with the heads just clearing the slate hangs on the nail. The opposite is true of wooden shingles and a man used to laying this material will invariably handle slate in the same way. As a consequence the slate, held too rigidly in place, is shattered around the nail hole, or the head of the nail crushed and eventually the slate may "ride" up over the nail and be blown off in a heavy wind... The temptation to use shingle nails instead of slating nails should be discouraged, for the slight saving in cost on the entire roof cannot approach the cost of repairs which may develop as a result of this practice. 2, record 92, English, - slate%20nail

Dip brazing. There are two methods of dip brazing : chemical bath dip brazing and molten metal bath dip brazing.... In molten metal bath dip brazing, the parts are immersed in a bath of molten brazing filler metal contained in a suitable pot. The parts must be cleaned and fluxed if necessary. A cover of flux should be maintained over the molten bath to protect it from oxidation. This method is largely confined to brazing small parts, such as wires or narrow strips of metal. The ends of the wires or parts must be held firmly together when they are removed from the bath until the brazing filler metal has fully solidified. 2, record 95, English, - molten%20metal%2Dbath%20dip%20brazing
