Special operations forces and support helicopter landing zones are generally covert. FP [force protection] is achieved by employing use of terrain and CCD [camouflage, concealment and deception] procedures. The FP presence must be balanced with the need to preserve operational secrecy. FP will normally be provided by the SOF [special operations force] units that are being supported.
