Efficacy of different monitoring devices was studied in potatoes over 2 years. Compared with the blacklight trap, the water-pan trap caught more male European corn borers in both 1990 and 1991. The Heliothis-cone and delta-wing traps and the sweep-net samples were ineffective for males.
