Tab-index features and access keys should be implemented as Government of Canada(GoC) sites must be designed with a view to making the information accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities who use adaptive technologies to receive and disseminate information. When implementing these features there must be a common approach across departments and agencies to maintain a consistency in the application across GoC Web sites as to not confuse the user. When tab-index features and access keys are implemented on GoC Web sites, a description on how to use them must be included under the Help button off of the Common Menu Bar.

Like the ’System’ and ’Help’ menus, the layout menu appears on every screen in the R/3 System. It contains functions that allow you to configure the R/3 window to suit your own requirements. You use the layout menu to : change the colors of the various R/3 control elements; change the text display font; change the window size; display/hide the standard toolbar, application toolbar and status bar; display/hide grid lines in lists; display the local time or the system response time enable or disable automatic tabbing; determine the position of the cursor.
