HEMATIZATION [5 records]

Record 1 2005-08-11

English

Subject field(s)
  • Geochemistry
  • Erosion and Weathering (Geol.)
DEF

An alteration type often associated with uranium (particularly pitchblende deposits).

CONT

The wall rocks are commonly altered adjacent to the orebodies by hematization, feldspathization, chloritization and carbonatization.

CONT

... attention should be paid to alteration phenomena within the rock adjacent to veins, particularly to hematization, argillization and chloritization.

CONT

Hematitization, epidotization, carbonatization, and soda metasomatism of the host rocks are common primary alteration features of the deposits.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Géochimie
  • Érosion et corrosion (Géologie)
CONT

L'hématititisation, l'épidotisation, la carbonatation et le métasomatisme sodique des roches hôtes sont des types courants d'altération primaire des gîtes.

CONT

Hématisation des gangues et des épontes.

CONT

Hématisation du granite.

Record 2 2004-03-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Erosion and Weathering (Geol.)
  • Geochemistry
DEF

Metamorphic alteration of other material into feldspar.

CONT

The wall rocks are commonly altered adjacent to the orebodies by hematization, feldspathization, chloritization and carbonatization.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Érosion et corrosion (Géologie)
  • Géochimie
DEF

Formation de feldspaths par action métamorphique du magma éruptif sur les roches qui se trouvent à son contact immédiat.

Record 3 2001-07-25

English

Subject field(s)
  • Geochemistry
  • Mineralogy
CONT

The Fond-du-Lac deposit occurs in hematized, carbonatized and silicified sandstone of the Athabasca Group.

CONT

Hematization is distinctive in the Michelin ore, but not in sulphide-rich argillaceous ore of the Rexspar deposit. Hematite occurs as very fine grains or interstitial films, and does not represent a significant addition of iron to the host rock. Magnetite and ilmeno-magnetite in the host rock have been hematized to a variable degree.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Géochimie
  • Minéralogie
PHR

Granite hématisé.

PHR

Fracture hématisée.

PHR

Feldspath hématisé.

Record 4 2001-02-27

English

Subject field(s)
  • Erosion and Weathering (Geol.)
  • Geochemistry
  • Metals Mining
CONT

Three episodes of skarn formation in calcareous wall rocks adjacent to granite intrusions and two alteration events in the associated plutons have been documented in the Iron Hat skarn deposit in California by Hall et al., 1988.

CONT

... attention should be paid to alteration phenomena within the rocks adjacent to veins, particularly to hematization, argillization and chloritization.

Key term(s)
  • alteration phenomena

French

Domaine(s)
  • Érosion et corrosion (Géologie)
  • Géochimie
  • Mines métalliques
CONT

En liaison avec un volcanisme ou un subvolcanisme acide, les minéralisations sont plus variées [...] Comme pour les roches basiques, les phénomènes d'altération sont parfois très importants.

Record 5 1991-06-12

English

Subject field(s)
  • Erosion and Weathering (Geol.)
CONT

The hostrocks are altered predominantly by illitization, chloritization, kaolinization, limonitization, hematization and silicification.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Érosion et corrosion (Géologie)
CONT

Sidérite. (...) Ce carbonate est un minerai de fer très recherché (...) L'altération en limonite est fréquente.
