English

Subject field(s)
  • Symptoms (Medicine)
  • Blood
  • Cytology
CONT

Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential(CHIP) is the presence of a clonally expanded hematopoietic stem cell caused by a leukemogenic mutation in individuals without evidence of hematologic malignancy, dysplasia, or cytopenia.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Symptômes (Médecine)
  • Sang
  • Cytologie
CONT

L'identification de mutations somatiques telles que retrouvées dans l'hématopoïèse clonale de signification indéterminée [...] confirme une condition précancéreuse avec un risque variable de progresser à un cancer hématologique.

Record 2 2024-12-18

English

Subject field(s)
  • Symptoms (Medicine)
  • Blood
CONT

Clonal hematopoiesis(CH) refers to the presence of a population of blood and/or bone marrow cells that share an acquired mutation or chromosome abnormality.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Symptômes (Médecine)
  • Sang
CONT

L'hématopoïèse clonale (HC) est caractérisée par l'acquisition de mutations dans les cellules souches hématopoïétiques menant à des clones détectables. L'HC est notamment favorisée par l'âge et confère un risque de développer une hémopathie maligne.

CONT

Clonal cytopenia of undetermined significance(CCUS) refers to the presence of persistent... cytopenia(s) in the patient meeting the other diagnostic criteria of CHIP [clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential].

OBS

Clonal cytopenia of unknown significance (CCUS) is characterized by a low blood count without an apparent cause, as well as a portion of blood cells that carry an acquired genetic mutation.

CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Blood
CONT

The term hematopoiesis refers to the formation and development of the cells of the blood. In humans this process begins in the yolk sac in the first weeks of embryonic development. By the third month of gestation, stem cells migrate to the fetal liver and then to the spleen(between 3-7 mths these two organs play a major hempatopoietic role). Next, the bone marrow becomes the major hematopoietic organ and hematopoiesis ceases in the liver and spleen.
