Spider lamb syndrome is a heritable congenital abnormality caused by a recessive gene that produces a range of skeletal deformities in lambs. The problem, which seem to have been first observed in the early 1970's, became a topic of serious concern to breeders in the early and middle 1980's. Many of the most popular bloodlines in the Suffolk and Hampshire breeds seemingly carried this damaging gene. Sheep which had tracings in their pedigrees to suspected carriers of this gene were said "grey" pedigrees, whereas those sheep which had no apparent incidence of carriers in their pedigrees were designated as "white pedigreed" sheep. 5, record 24, English, - spider%20syndrome

Mutations of CBP has recently been discovered to be responsible for cases of heritable Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, an autosomal-dominant disorder which causes mental retardation and a predisposition to several forms of cancers. Further, transposition of CBP, which fuses the histone acetyl transferase domain of CBP to MOZ gene has been found in acute myeloid leukemia. 2, record 31, French, - %C3%A9tude%20du%20pouvoir%20mutag%C3%A8ne%20sur%20microorganismes

A heritable change, occurring in cells in culture, either intrinsically or from treatment with chemical carcinogens, oncogenic viruses, irridation, etc., and leading to the acquisition of altered morphological, antigenic, neoplastic, proliferative, or other properties. This expression is distinguished from "in vitro neoplastie transformation" in that the alterations occurring in the cell population may not always include the ability of the cells to produce tumors in appropriate hosts. The type of transformation should always be specified in any description. 1, record 33, English, - in%20vitro%20transformation
