The purpose of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Official Languages(DACOL), chaired by the Director of Programs and Liaison of the Treasury Board Secretariat's [TBS] Official Languages Branch, is to provide a mechanism for consultation and communication concerning official languages among the main players in official languages : the TBS, the Privy Council Office, Justice Canada, the Public Service Commission, the Translation Bureau, Canadian Heritage, the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages(with observer status) and the departments and agencies(about 30). The DACOL studies issues related to the direction and implementation of the Official Languages Program in federal organizations. Elections Canada. The Advisory Committee of Registered Political Parties, which is chaired by the Chief Electoral Officer, was initially convened on the advice of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs in 1998. The ten registered political parties represented on the Advisory Committee are the Bloc Québécois, the Canadian Action Party, the Canadian Reform Conservative Alliance, the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, The Green Party of Canada, the Liberal Party of Canada, the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada, the Natural Law Party of Canada, the New Democratic Party, and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. The Advisory Committee on the Protection of Special Places was established in 1981 to advise the minister responsible for the Special Plans Protection Act.
