The Council represents archival institutions and heritage operations with archival mandates in the Northwest Territories. The primary purpose of the NWT Archives Council is to adjudicate and recommend applications for funds provided through the Canadian Council of Archives(CCA). The NWT Archives Council also sponsors workshops about various aspects of archives management and helps to promote the concept and importance of archives in the Northwest Territories.
