Project Youth-Link focuses on youth talking across Canada. The Project Youth-Link "room" is a forum for students to have a live discussion about the issues and concerns of young Canadians today. Students from across the country are electronically linked to each other so that they can talk live over the Internet using the SchoolNet MOO. The Minister of Canadian Heritage, Sheila Copps, officially launched Youth-Link on February 16th, 1996 as part of "Canada-Take it to Heart" week. The Advisory Committee of Registered Political Parties, which is chaired by the Chief Electoral Officer, was initially convened on the advice of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs in 1998. The ten registered political parties represented on the Advisory Committee are the Bloc Québécois, the Canadian Action Party, the Canadian Reform Conservative Alliance, the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, The Green Party of Canada, the Liberal Party of Canada, the Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada, the Natural Law Party of Canada, the New Democratic Party, and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. The Spry Point Ark was originally constructed, in 1975, as an environmental research facility for the United Nations Habitat for Humanity Forum. At that time it demonstrated to thousands of visitors world-wide, how appropriate technology could be developed for the benefit of human living and commercial activities. Today the Ark prevails as an international icon, symbolizing the environmental spirit that has matured in significant part, due to research that began at this site.
