In biology, a dimer is a protein complex made up of two subunits. In a homodimer the two subunits are identical, and in a heterodimer they differ(though they are often still very similar in structure). The subunits do not need to be covalently linked, and usually aren’t. 3, record 1, English, - dimer

1, record 1, French, - dim%C3%A8re

A dimer is something made up of two subunits(a trimer is made up of three subunits, a manomer has one subunit). So a dimeric protein is made up of two individual protein chains. Now, you could have two or the same thin, say, A and A, or you could have two different subunits, say, A and B. "Homo" means the same, so a homodimeric protein is made up of two identical subunits. If it was made up of A and B, it would be a "heterodimer" or heterodimeric protein. 3, record 2, English, - dimeric

3, record 2, French, - dim%C3%A9rique

The T-cell receptors for antigen are also heterodimers composed of either and or and subunits. The T-cell antigen receptor is associated with a cell surface complex of different nonpolymorphic chains (CD3, CD3, CD3, CD3). The arrangement of T-cell recepteor genes is similar to that of Ig genes. 1, record 3, English, - heterodimer

Both helper T cells and cytoxic T cells express their T cell antigen receptor in a molecular complex involving three other polypeptide chains. These three chains comprise the CD3 subunit in man. The three chains of CD3 are the [gamma] chain(molecular weight 20 kD), the [delta] chain(molecular weight 20 kD) and the [epsilon] chain(molecular weight 20 kD). These chains are non-covalently associated with each other and the ab heterodimer of the TCR(T cell receptor). 1, record 4, English, - CD3%20subunit
