Leaks are common in compressed air systems. To determine if you have any, just walk around your plant during a non-production time and listen. If you hear a "hiss, "you have probably identified a leak that should be marked for repair. Repairing leaks reduces your air requirement, the demand on your compressed air equipment, and ultimately saves energy. 2, record 1, English, - compressed%20air%20equipment

"Sounds" of the Magnetosphere. Natural radio waves are associated with lightning, aurora and magnetospheric processes. Some of these radio waves occur at audio frequencies (about 100 Hz to 10 kHz). These radio waves are not sound waves and cannot be heard directly, but a radio receiver can convert eletromagnetic (radio) waves into acoustic (sound) waves with the same frequency so as to allow the magnetosphere to be "heard". 5, record 4, English, - very%20low%20frequency%20emissions

Criteria for indoor noise are summarized in three sets of specifications that have been derived by collecting subjective judgments from a large sampling of people in a variety of specific situations. These have developed into the noise criteria(NC) and preferred noise criteria(PNC) curves, which provide limits on the level of noise introduced into the environment. The NC curves, developed in 1957, aim to provide a comfortable working or living environment by specifying the maximum allowable level of noise in octave bands over the entire audio spectrum. The complete set of 11 curves specifies noise criteria for a broad range of situations. The PNC curves, developed in 1971, add limits on low-frequency rumble and high-frequency hiss; hence, they are preferred over the older NC standard. 2, record 5, English, - preferred%20noise%20criteria%20curve
