M. S. Tecumseth and H. M. S. Bee. Tour the historic properties, including the restoration project on the Officers’ Quarters, and learn first-hand the challenges of shipwrights, sailors, soldiers and other military and civilian personnel at this isolated outpost built to defend Upper Canada. 1, record 10, English, - Discovery%20Harbour

The naval and military establishments in Penetanguishene operated for 39 years, from 1817 to 1856. In the summer of 1951, the Chamber of Commerce of Penetanguishene decided to develop the site of the old establishment as an historical and recreation park. It restored the remaining buildings, the officer's quarters, and opened a scenic road along the bay. It was called the Historic Naval and Military Establishments. Its name has been changed just recently to Discovery Harbour and it is a picturesque scene covered with old buildings and horse drawn carriages. 2, record 10, English, - Discovery%20Harbour

The other and very significant category of waters classed as internal waters are those waters which are internal waters by virtue of historic title. There exist a number of such claims to extensive bays, gulfs, estuaries etc. around the world which do not come within the normal rules of delimitation of territorial sea baselines but which for reasons of special geographic configuration, national security, social policy and vital economic interests, the coastal states involved consider it necessary to treat on the same basis as national territory... Generally accepted examples of historic waters are the... Chesapeake Bay, Hudson Bay... 2, record 13, English, - historic%20waters
