The main purpose of the British Columbia Historical Federation is to stimulate public interest and encourage research in the history of British Columbia. The Federation provides a single, collective voice for member societies working to preserve the province's history. The British Columbia Historial Association was established on 31 October 1922 and on 2 March 1927, the Association was registered under the Societies Act.
