Virtual history, also referred to as counterfactual history, is a form of history which attempts to answer "what if" questions. It seeks to explore history and historical processes from the point of view of extrapolating a position in which certain key historical events did not happen or had an outcome which was different to that which did in fact occur. Most historians regard counterfactual history as sometimes entertaining, but not meeting the standards of mainstream historical research due to its speculative nature. 5, record 3, English, - counterfactual%20history

Les Anglais disent What if? 1, record 3, French, - histoire%20contrefactuelle

Interactions between trees and urban environment have been studied by many authors... With pertinent trees planting, several improvements are expectable for aesthetic, visual, historical or symbolic purpose, for runoff, noise and pollutant control and from a microclimatic point of view. Some of these actions seem be obvious but it should be noticed that few information are available from literature for precise quantitative results. Most of existing results are based on measurements and can be considered only as specific data in a certain context. What happens if vegetation is introduced in a mineral space or if a building is constructed instead of a park? Extrapolations of measurements are often not possible, so only numerical simulations can afford advice to urban planners on the way they may improve urban environment. 1, record 4, English, - mineral%20space

3, record 4, French, - espace%20min%C3%A9ral
