Macular telangiectasia(MacTel) type 2 is a bilateral disease of unknown cause with characteristic alterations of the macular capillary network and neurosensory atrophy. The disease manifests initially temporal to the foveal center, but may later encompass an oval area with a radius of about 6° [degrees] horizontally and 5° vertically centered on the foveola. Symptoms typically start in the fifth or sixth decade of life. Some patients have a positive family history. 5, record 1, English, - macular%20telangiectasia%20type%202

Blount's disease occurs in children with no apparent abnormality at birth, having a typical history of "genu varum" worsening with gait before the age of 2 years. The less frequent juvenile onset may occur between 4 and 10 years and the adolescent form over 11 years.... Blount's disease is believed to result from abnormal compression of the medial aspect of the proximal tibial physes, causing retardation of growth in that area or increased growth laterally of the proximal tibia or fibula... In juvenile Blount's disease, the etiology is less clear and may relate more to malalignment, leading to the characteristic changes visible on radiographs. 3, record 2, English, - juvenile%20Blount%26rsquo%3Bs%20disease

Wheat was introduced into Western Canada in 1812 by the Selkirk Settlers who settled in the Red River Valley of Manitoba. There were many difficult years in the early history of wheat production. On a number of occasions almost entire crops were destroyed by grasshoppers, rust epidemics and frost. With the introduction of earlier maturing and more disease resistant varieties, the industry progressed in keeping with growth of population. The first wheat exported from Manitoba was 23 tonnes of Red Fife seed to Ontario in 1876. 1, record 18, English, - Selkirk%20Settlers

Post-polio syndrome is the enigmatic ghost of a once-terrifying disease that had all but vanished into the medical history books.... More than twenty-five years after they seemed to recover, polio victims began to succomb to a new round of weakness, pain, fatigue, and progressive muscle atrophy. But post-polio syndrome(PPS) was accepted as a "real" disease only ten years ago, when former polio victims were finally able to convince the medical community that their new symptoms were not imaginary. 1, record 20, English, - post%2Dpolio%20syndrome
