While aging or risk factors such as smoking cause common forms of macular degeneration, macular dystrophy is linked to genetic mutations that—for no apparent reason—trigger degradation of retinal cells. Some forms of macular dystrophy appear in childhood, and other forms appear in adulthood. However, it sometimes is difficult to distinguish common macular degeneration from inherited macular dystrophy because of the similarity of symptoms, including decreased visual acuity and loss of central vision. 6, record 1, English, - macular%20dystrophy

1, record 2, French, - augmentation

Virtual reality (VR) has been an area of research for over 40 years yet only recently has it begun to achieve public acceptance. One key to this has been the development of "cinematic virtual reality" (CVR) where media fidelity approaches that found in feature film. Unlike traditional VR, CVR limits the level of control users have within the environment to choosing viewpoints rather than interacting with the world itself. This means that CVR production arguably represents a new type of filmmaking. 2, record 3, English, - cinematic%20virtual%20reality

Cinematic virtual reality(cinematic VR) is one of the emerging mediums alongside virtual reality(VR) and augmented reality(AR) with the production of more advanced head mounted displays(HMD) headsets and 360 cameras. It can be argued that cinematic VR and VR are the same medium, both utilising virtual environments(VEs) and HMD headsets with the major differences being primarily in interactivity. Cinematic VR draws heavily from the film industry while VR draws from the games industry. 3, record 3, English, - cinematic%20virtual%20reality

… as more and more home viewing occurs on large-screen high resolution televisions and other display devices, movie theaters have sought to differentiate the movie theater experience from home viewing by offering three-dimensional films. Generally speaking, the RWO [real world object] insertion logic may insert a RWO at a location within the VRS [virtual reality scene] that corresponds to its location in the real world relative to the user's direction of gaze in real-time. As a result, the user sees the RWO within the augmented VRS as she would by taking off the HMD [head mounted display], providing her with spatial familiarity and reorientation cues without disrupting the flow of the VRS. Nevertheless, there may be certain instances where the insertion logic may place a RWO at a location within the VRS different than its location within the real world. The process of augmenting the VRS can continue progressively with the insertion or blending or overlaying of additional real world objects until the computer's DDL [disorientation detection logic] determines that the user no longer meets the criteria indicative of disorientation. 1, record 5, English, - insertion
