Ce dernier terme signifie en réalité «un coup puissant renvoyant la balle avec force en lui faisant raser le filet» et ne doit pas être utilisé comme synonyme de coup droit, tout coup frappé avec la paume de la main faisant face au mouvement de la balle, que le coup soit exécuté de la droite ou de la gauche.
