A toggle bolt, also known as a butterfly anchor, is a fastener for hanging things on hollow walls such as drywalls. Toggle bolts have wings that open inside a hollow wall, bracing against it to hold the fastener securely. The wings are much larger than the bolt they are attached to. This spreads the weight of the secured item over a larger area, increasing the weight that can be secured compared to a regular bolt. 3, record 14, English, - toggle%20bolt

The results showed that railroads had the most market power over long, cross-country moves. However, there were exceptions. Unlike the grain freight market, for frozen freight, the length of haul was less of a determining factor behind truck and rail competition. Across all haul distances, rail demand for frozen products, on average, was more sensitive to changes in rail rates than frozen truck demand was to changes in truck rates. As a result, rail carriers are less likely to hold substantial market power in the frozen freight markets. For frozen freight, trucks compete with rail for shipments, even over long distances. This effect is likely due to frozen freight's time sensitivity and lower volumes(than grain). These requirements of frozen freight make it more suitable than grain for long-haul trucking. 1, record 34, English, - truck%20and%20rail%20competition

Architectural technicians hold a sort of hybrid role in the field of planning and drafting building schematics. Generally speaking, these technicians are concerned with the technical and scientific areas which affect architectural design. When employed in architectural firms, they are typically tasked with assisting with sections of drawings that must be scientifically precise and conform to certain technological specifications. These technicians also work in engineering firms, where the goal is to incorporate scientific and technological information from engineering design teams into working drafts, drawings, and schematics. For architectural firms, these technicians maintain roles which involve investigating necessary technology and limitations in construction. They typically work with contractors and construction design teams to assess structural needs which may be based on the function of the building, as well as examine expected "stressors" which may impact the completed structure. The technicians then develop drawings using computer-aided drafting(CAD) for the small, discrete sections which require this special attention. 1, record 44, English, - architectural%20technician

It limits participation and entry in the less-than-65-feet sector to individuals who meet certain criteria so that the total number of core fishers or participants in a fishery remains the same. To qualify as a member of the core group, a licence holder was required, as of December 20, 1995, to meet the following criteria : be the head of an enterprise; hold key licences; have an attachment to the fishery; and be dependent on the fishery. Qualified new entrants to a fishery may acquire core status only from existing participants. 2, record 45, English, - core%20policy

Most tankers carry either crude oil from oil fields to refineries or petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, or petrochemical feedstock from refineries to distribution centres. Some tankers with special food-grade holds, pumps, and other handling equipment can carry molasses, edible oil, and even wine in bulk. Specialized ships for transporting liquefied natural gas and fruit juices are often called tankers, though on these ships the cargo is actually carried in large refrigerated containers that fit into the hold. 4, record 55, English, - tanker

1, record 77, French, - refroidissement%20par%20noyage

What causes the transmission to shift? It's shifted by shifter forks, also known as sliding yokes. These resemble the oarlocks you find in a row boat. and they ride in a groove in the clutch sleeve and sliding gear. Shifter forks are connected to a cam and shaft assembly. The cam assembly is kept in the selected gear by spring loaded steel balls that jump through notches(in the cam assembly) and hold the shifter forks in that gear. This Policy Statement brings to a close a process of public consultation on specific policies related to broadcasting and telecommunications put forward in October 1994, in Order in Council P. C. 1994-1689. The policies addressed three broad areas : interconnection and interoperability of network facilities, continued support for Canadian content, and competition in facilities, products and services. The Order in Council requested the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission(CRTC) to hold public consultations and report on issues related to the implementation of these policies. As well, the Order indicated that the CRTC' s report would be forwarded to the Information Highway Advisory Council(IHAC) for comment. 1, record 82, English, - Convergence%20Policy

1, record 82, French, - Politique%20sur%20la%20convergence

... recent cold temperatures combined with shallow snow is a dangerous mix, creating a weak snowpack that cannot hold much weight. [According to him] "slabby" snow is making the backcountry dangerous. Snow grains that have blown around and then stuck together are layered on top of a weaker layer of snow. This slabby layer, he said, gives a misleading feel that it is strong, but it can easily cave in on the weak layer beneath, causing an avalanche. 3, record 87, English, - slabby%20snow

Assume that A was seized of the fee simple estate in Blackacre, and that A's heir, C, was an infant aged ten years. At common law, upon the death of A, the fee simple estate would pass, by inheritance, to C. As C was an infant, the land would go into wardship and with the land also would go the child. Blackacre would become subject to the onerous feudal incidents of wardship and marriage and, as a result, financial havoc could be wrought upon A's family. To avoid this result, A would make the following disposition of Blackacre by way of a use : A would be the "feoffor to uses", B the "feoffee to uses", and C the "cestui que use". B would undertake to hold the fee simple estate to the use of A until his death and, thereafter, to the use of C, A's heir. 2, record 93, English, - feoffor%20to%20uses
