When an irate citizen demands that a disfavored public official be impeached, the citizen clearly intends for the official to be removed from office. This popular use of "impeach" as a synonym of "throw out" (even if by due process) does not accord with the legal meaning of the word. When a public official is impeached, that is, formally accused of wrongdoing, this is only the start of what can be a lengthy process that may or may not lead to the official’s removal from office. In strict usage, an official is impeached (accused), tried, and then convicted or acquitted.

Ce terme désigne : a) un ancien ministre de la Couronne; b) un ancien secrétaire parlementaire; c) un ancien titulaire de charge publique à temps complet nommé par décret, autre qu'un ancien lieutenant-gouverneur d'une province et un ancien juge dont le traitement était versé en vertu de la Loi sur les juges; d) un ancien employé d'un ministère dont le niveau était au moins celui de cadre supérieur, ou l'équivalent, qui avait pour employeur le Conseil du Trésor représentant le gouvernement; e) tout ancien titulaire d'un poste d'exception que le ministre compétent déclare assujetti à la présente partie; f) un ancien titulaire d'une charge publique que le ministre compétent déclare assujetti au Code régissant la conduite des titulaires de charges publiques en ce qui concerne les conflits d'intérêts et l'après-mandat; g) un ancien membre des Forces armées canadiennes ayant au moins le rang de colonel ou l'équivalent; h) un ancien officier de haut rang de la Gendarmerie royale du Canada; et i) les anciens titulaires de tout autre poste que désigne le Conseil du Trésor.

Sometime at the beginning of May, you will see... in Dorval and Toronto airports... a new ticketing machine. Four units will be installed on a trial basis... The Agent Supported Ticketing Air Canada(ASTAC) system allows passengers, who are enRoute credit card holders, to make or change reservations and obtain tickets in a one-stop contract with Air Canada. To work the ASTAC system, the enRoute credit card holder inserts the card into the credit card reader. The card is validated and telephone contact is established between the passenger and an agent in the local reservations office. Now the transaction is carried out. The completed tickets are printed and the passenger's account is billed. Then, the ticket hopper door is unlocked and passengers are able to obtain their tickets.

À partir de teleticketing : [...] un système particulier d'émission des billets dit «Teleticketing», qui fonctionne de la façon suivante : Dans le bureau de vente, est installé un récepteur télétype équipé d'une bande continue sur laquelle sont imprimés des billets à 4 coupons de vol [...] Ce récepteur est relié aux émetteurs de différentes Compagnies, qui peuvent ainsi rédiger le billet à distance. Sur appel téléphonique du Bureau de vente qui donne des éléments d'établissement du billet (nom du passager, itinéraire, date de départ, no de vol, etc.), la Compagnie prend les réservations nécessaires, calcule le tarif et retranscrit tous les éléments sur une "Transmission Worksheet" dont les différentes cases sont codifiées en sorte que le billet recopié sur téléscripteur sort du récepteur entièrement rédigé.
