HOLDING CLUB [4 records]

Record 1 2011-05-16

English

Subject field(s)
  • Golf
DEF

The manner of holding a club.

CONT

A proper grip allows you to release the club correctly and powerfully through the ball while maintaining a firm hold from the start of the swing to the finish.

OBS

In golf, right-handed players grip the top of the club with the left hand, and left-handed players, with the right hand. Three major grips are used to hit the ball with woods or irons: the "overlapping grip" or "Vardon grip"; the "interlocking grip"; and the "ten-finger grip" or "baseball grip".

French

Domaine(s)
  • Golf
DEF

Record 2 2006-08-03

English

Subject field(s)
  • Paddle Sports
CONT

The forward stroke is the same for both bow and stern paddlers. Of course there [are] all kinds of fancy techniques you can learn, but you should know that the upper hand on the paddle grips the handle on top, and does not hold the thing like... a golf club. The lower arm, holding the paddle's throat-does most of the work, so you might switch paddling sides once in a while to keep both arms evenly exercised.

OBS
