The purposes of the Association are : to promote, advance and improve visual art education in the Province of Manitoba; to maintain a liaison with Manitoba Teachers’ Association(MTS), The Canadian Society for Education through Art(CSEA) and other organizations as the executive deems necessary for the purposes of exchanging ideas and monitoring trends and developments in Art education; to promote a special program for art educators at the annual Special Area Group Conferences(SAG) ;to promote the educational activities of its members by holding meetings, seminars and programs of professional development; to furnish recommendation to MTS on matters affecting teachers and the teaching of art; to publish a newsletter and/or journal on a regular basis; and to interchange publications with other provincial organization.

The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities(SARM) was formed in 1905 to represent rural municipalities and farmers in those municipalities in their dealings with senior governments.... While the Association's area of interest in not confined to agriculture, agriculture plays an important part in their activities to the point where a separate agricultural extension program co-ordinated by a permanent director of agriculture, complements their primary working body of 10 members.... In addition to the usual activities of the Association dealing with the provincial government on legislation and holding conventions and seminars to dispense information to its membership, the Association is involved in numerous related activities and its represented on a number of committees related specifically to the grain industry such as the Canada Grains Council. The Association executive meets formally about five times a year.

[...] Même si l'activité de l'Association n'est pas uniquement centrée sur l'agriculture, celle-ci occupe une place suffisamment importante pour que l'on ait prévu la mise sur pied d'un programme d'éducation permanente en agriculture, coordonné par un directeur permanent de l'agriculture; ce programme, entité distincte dans l'Association, s'ajoute à l'activité dirigée par les dix administrateurs du conseil. [...] Outre ses activités régulières, qui consistent essentiellement à intervenir auprès du gouvernement provincial en matière de politique agricole et à organiser des congrès et des séminaires pour renseigner ses membres, l'Association participe à de nombreuses activités connexes et siège à certains comités liés à l'industrie du grain proprement dite, par exemple le Conseil des grains du Canada. Il y a, chaque année, environ cinq réunions statutaires du conseil de direction de la SARM.
