From the employees’ standpoint, working time accounts offer attractive advantages for life and retirement planning, can help motivate staff and keep qualified staff loyal to the company. The principle behind working time accounts couldn’t be simpler : employees pay time units and/or pay components into their accounts, out of current salary, bonuses, unused holiday allowances or overtime, for example. Assets are invested gross, that is, before deducting taxes and social security contributions. Employer and employee can agree to use the assets saved up to release the employee from work for a long period of time(long-term working time account) or for early retirement(lifetime working time account).

Le tourisme équitable est un concept plus récent, qui se réfère à celui du «commerce équitable» où une relation s'établit entre le producteur et le consommateur, de telle sorte que les intermédiaires restent sous la vigilance de réseaux. Il permet ainsi une rémunération équitable du «producteur» (l'hôte du pays d'accueil), et réduit les aléas du commerce entre régions consommatrices riches et «productrices» pauvres et dépendantes. L'adaptation de la notion d'équité au tourisme reste délicate à cause de la complexité du marché touristique, qui n'est pas réductible à une simple transaction entre producteurs et consommateurs.

Le tourisme équitable est un ensemble d'activités et de services, proposé par des opérateurs touristiques à des voyageurs responsables, et élaboré par les communautés d'accueil, autochtones (ou tout au moins en grande partie avec elles). Ces communautés participent de façon prépondérante à l'évolution de la définition de ces activités (possibilité de les modifier, de les réorienter, de les arrêter). Elles participent aussi à leur gestion continue de façon significative (en limitant au maximum les intermédiaires n'adhérant pas à ces principes du tourisme équitable). Les bénéfices sociaux, culturels et financiers de ces activités doivent être perçus en grande partie localement, et équitablement partagés entre les membres de la population autochtone.
