A growth stage of grasses when the main stem begins to elongate. 1, record 1, English, - shooting%20stage
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Stem elongation or jointing occurs as a result of internode elongation. Usually a plant has about five to six leaves on the main shoot when internode elongation first begins. Throughout development, the lower four nodes remain in the crown. The fifth node may remain in the crown or be elevated slightly and nodes six and seven are generally elevated above the soil. The elongating internode is hollow between the crown and the elevated growing point, except in solid stem varieties. Rapid stem or internode elongation brings the developing head above the soil surface. Each elongating internode becomes progressively longer and eventually leads to head emergence. 4, record 1, English, - shooting%20stage

There are three principal types of augers used for well drilling : bucket augers, solid-stem augers, and hollow-stem augers.... Solid-stem augers consist of spiral flanges welded to a pipe. One length of pipe(or auger section) is called a flight; multiple auger sections are often referred to as continuous flighting. The leading auger flight has a special bit or cutter head attached that cuts a hole for the flights to follow. Flights are added as the hole is drilled deeper. Cuttings from the drilling process are brought to the surface by the action of the augers.... Hollow-stem augers are similar to solid-stem augers in design, except that drill rods can pass through the auger sections.... Because the flights are hollow, they can be used as temporary casing to hold the hole open while the permanent casing is installed. Wells drilled with hollow-stem augers have been used to construct water supply wells, but they are more often used to construct monitoring wells. 3, record 10, English, - hollow%20stem%20auger

A typical micronic type filter... utilizes an element made of specially treated paper which is formed in vertical convolutions(wrinkles). An internal spring holds the elements in shape. The micronic element is designed to prevent the passage of solids greater than 10 microns(0. 000394 inch) in size. In the event that the filter element becomes clogged, the spring loaded relief valve in the filter head will bypass the fluid after a differential pressure of 50 p. s. i. has been built up. Hydraulic fluid enters the filter through the inlet port in the filter body and flows around the element inside the bowl. Filtering takes place as the fluid passes through the element into the hollow core, leaving the foreign material on the outside of the element. 3, record 11, English, - micron%20filter

There are dops especially for polishing tables, the so-called soap dops. They have a soft copper stalk and on the sides of the head a clamp to hold the small hollow metal pots. Nowadays the soap is replaced by special products, either pastes which stay soft or liquids which harden when the stone is heated while running on the wheel. 2, record 12, English, - table%20dop

3, record 12, French, - dop%20pour%20table

The design of the hollow fiber membrane module uses the fibers in a half loop with the free ends potted in epoxy resin. The loop end is contained in a pressure vessel. Feed solution is introduced around the outside of the hollow fiber. Filtrate passes through the fiber walls and flows up the bore to the open end of the fiber at the epoxy head.
