CONT

The loop conjugator can also be considered as an adaptive laser resonator with a holographic grating element formed by the self-intersecting beam. Such a system can produce output energy at least two orders of magnitude higher than a high-quality injecting pulse.

The compound holographic element is compact and easy to align. It can be used with broadband sources, generating a vortex beam with the same angular momentum for all wavelengths, and keeping the spatial and temporal profile when used with ultrashort laser pulses.

CONT

The image recorded on the holographic plate is called a hologram of the target, which carries both the amplitude and phase of the returned, scattered beam from the target. The first exposure of the holographic plate by the reference beam results in a reference hologram, while the second exposure by the returned beam imposes all changes of the target to the reference hologram.

CONT

Holographic Versatile Disc(HVD) is an advanced optical disc technology still in the research stage which would greatly increase storage over Blu-ray and HD-DVD [high-definition digital versatile disc] optical disc systems. It employs a technique known as collinear holography, whereby two lasers, one red and one blue-green, are collimated in a single beam. These disks have the capacity to hold up to 3. 9 terabytes(TB) of information, which is approximately eighty times the capacity of Blu-ray Disc.

CONT
