Some holographic storage devices claim a density of one terabit, or one trillion bits, in one cubic centimeter... Compact Discs hold... approximately 250, 000 times less information than those holograms would. The theoretical promises of holographic data storage hold much promise for people trying to find ways to retrieve extremely large amounts of data very quickly. 4, record 1, English, - holographic%20storage%20device

3, record 1, French, - dispositif%20holographique

Holographic Versatile Disc(HVD) is an advanced optical disc technology still in the research stage which would greatly increase storage over Blu-ray and HD-DVD [high-definition digital versatile disc] optical disc systems. It employs a technique known as collinear holography, whereby two lasers, one red and one blue-green, are collimated in a single beam. These disks have the capacity to hold up to 3. 9 terabytes(TB) of information, which is approximately eighty times the capacity of Blu-ray Disc. 2, record 3, English, - holographic%20versatile%20disc

1, record 3, French, - disque%20holographique%20polyvalent

Holographic memory offers the possibility of storing 1 terabyte (TB) of data in a sugar-cube-sized crystal. A terabyte of data equals 1,000 gigabytes, 1 million megabytes or 1 trillion bytes. Data from more than 1,000 CDs could fit on a holographic memory system. Most computer hard drives only hold 10 to 40 GB of data, a small fraction of what a holographic memory system might hold. 4, record 6, English, - holographic%20memory
