What is an Accessory Dwelling Unit(ADU) ? An accessory dwelling unit(ADU) is a legal and regulatory term for a secondary house or apartment that shares the building lot of a larger, primary home. CONT

A hacktivist uses the same tools and techniques as a hacker, but does so in order to disrupt services and bring attention to a political or social cause. For example, one might leave a highly visible message on the home page of a Web site that gets a lot of traffic or which embodies a point-of-view that is being opposed. Or one might launch a denial-of-service attack to disrupt traffic to a particular site.

Subject field(s)
  • Hygiene and Health
DEF

Unpaid care provided for a family member.

CONT

Unpaid family care is not considered to be part of national health expenditure. Households and families provide a lot of inputs to health care, through their uncompensated time and effort. For example, family members take time to care for the sick at home or to stay with them in hospital.

OBS

This term should not be used interchangeably with "informal care," which represents a more comprehensive concept and includes care by friends or neighbours.

French

CONT

DEF

The faculty member should then meet with a content development team (CDT). The CDT provides expertise in instructional design and media production while faculty members provide content expertise. The faculty member and CDT reach an agreement regarding the possible, desired, and recommended features and content to include in the course.

CONT

Generally, the key to coaching is to ask open-ended questions you don’t know the answers to(as opposed to asking questions for the sake of asking questions). The content team has to structure the choice so that the user couldn’t juste fly through the system by choosing an open-ended questions choice each time. Coaching is a lot more complicated than that, and it's important to drill this fact home to trainees.

The heart of the cyberrevolution remains, of course, the personal computer. Cheaper, faster, more versatile and easier-to-use PCs are infiltrating the social fabric. Software like Mosaic and Netscape has made navigating the Internet a lot less daunting for average citizens.... The modern, well-wired home already offers its occupants a head-spinning array of computer-borne activities. Children use CD-ROMs to play games and hear music. Teenagers flock to online services not only to "chat", but also to reach primary school work sources... Adults have access to instant stock-market quotes, to online versions of magazines and to "clubs" where people gather to discuss astronomy, genealogy or bicycling.
