The term "domestic jurisdiction", as used in the theory and practice of international law, mainly since the Covenant of the League of Nations, is not a new legal concept from the point of view of its content. Indeed, it does not mean anything else or anything more than the term sovereignty in the sense of the supreme power of the State over its territory and inhabitants in the framework of international law binding upon the State. What some authors used to call "internal sovereignty" corresponds to domestic jurisdiction. This term does not mean exactly the same thing as the French expression "compétence exclusive de l’État," although it is translated in this way in the Covenant. 3, record 9, English, - domestic%20jurisdiction

Diplomatic protection of citizens abroad.... one of the primary duties and functions of a diplomat is to protect the interests of the nationals of his home state who may be resident or sojourning in the territories of the receiving state. The right of a state to afford protection to its citizens whilst they are abroad is a universally accepted canon of international law, and it is this right of his home state that a diplomatic agent exercises whilst looking after the interest of his co-nationals and making representations on their behalf to the government of the receiving state if they suffer harm or injury in the territories of that state. 2, record 10, English, - diplomatic%20protection

Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet was the first abstract work Balanchine designed for the stage of the New York State Theater, which replaced the smaller City Center of Music and Drama as the home of New York City Ballet in 1964. Balanchine often said that chamber music was not suitable for large ballets, since chamber pieces typically are "too long, with too many repeats, and are meant for small rooms. "Schoenberg crafted his orchestration of the Brahms G minor piano quartet in 1930's out of a similar dissatisfaction, telling a critic that the chamber version "is always very badly played, as the better the pianist, the louder he plays, and one hears nothing of the strings. "The title refers to the fact that the 20th-century Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg orchestrated this piano quartet by 19th-century German composer Johannes Brahms. 1, record 14, English, - Brahms%2DSchoenberg%20Quartet

The most common type of humidifier used in the home is a wick, or evaporative humidifier.... Once the humidifier is turned on, the water travels from the reservoir to the filter. The reservoir, basically a large bucket or container, is filled with water prior to use. The filter absorbs the water from the reservoir as the fan blows on the filter. As the water evaporates, it transforms from a liquid state to a gaseous state called water vapor. The resulting water vapor moisturizes the air in the room. 1, record 17, English, - evaporative%20humidifier

There are a number of performance factors that determine how well your heating system is able to supply heat to your home. For all non-electric heating systems there are two basic approaches to defining efficient performance. Both measure the percentage of heat available in a fuel that is actually delivered as heat to the house. Steady state efficiency is a performance factor that is easily measured over a short period of time. It indicates the performance of a system that has been running long enough to allow all furnace components to reach their normal operating temperatures...
