HOMOGENEOUS CHARGE COMPRESSION IGNITION [2 records]

Record 1 2011-06-30

English

Subject field(s)
  • Ignition Systems (Motor Vehicles)
  • Engines (Motor Vehicles)
CONT

By increasing the iso-octane percentage in the fuel from 0-50%, it was shown that the HCCI [homogeneous charge compression ignition] engine lost combustion efficiency and combustion phasing was slowed.

CONT

It was found that low level of fuel stratification obtained with asymmetric port fuel injection does not significantly affect the combustion phasing ...

Domaine(s)
  • Allumage (Véhicules automobiles)
  • Moteur (Véhicules automobiles)
CONT

[...] il est apparu que le niveau de stratification de la charge obtenu par l’utilisation d’injection indirecte dissymétrique ne permet pas de modifier le déroulement de la combustion.

Record 2 2007-04-16

English

Subject field(s)
  • Ignition Systems (Motor Vehicles)
CONT

Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, or HCCI, is a relatively new combustion technology. It is a hybrid of the traditional spark ignition(SI) and the compression ignition process(such as a Diesel engine). In addition, HCCI is a lean combustion process. These conditions translate to a lower local flame temperature which lower the amount of Nitric Oxide(NOx) produced in the process.

DEF

Procédé de combustion appliqué aux moteurs diesel, consistant en une auto-inflammation d'un mélange homogène d'air et de combustible.
