Enzyme reactors differ from fermentations in not behaving in an autocatalytic fashion, for there the growing cells continually regenerate themselves. As with chemical reactors, enzyme reactors are judged by their productivity and specificity. They are classified as homogeneous reactors or heterogeneous reactors. This depends of course on whether their contents are homogeneous, in which only one phase is present, or heterogeneous where more than one phase is present. 2, record 3, English, - homogeneous%20reactor

Enzyme membrane reactors... combine enzyme recycling with the advantages of homogeneous enzyme catalysis.... Substrate is pumped into a loop reactor that contains the dissolved enzyme. The product solution that accumulates behind the membrane is free from enzyme and ready for work-up.... The economic operation of an EMR plant requires that the sterile reactor be operated for months in order to utilize the enzyme activity to the greatest possible extent. 2, record 4, English, - enzyme%20membrane%20reactor

1, record 4, French, - r%C3%A9acteur%20%C3%A0%20membrane

pH must be controlled by the monitored addition of acid or alkali. In very large reactors the problem of long mixing times may make it impossible to achieve a homogeneous pH throughout the reactor, unless high stirring speeds(tank reactor) are used. This may create more of a problem than it solves, resulting in polymer particle attrition in the tank reactor or channelling in the packed bed reactor. 2, record 5, English, - reactor

1, record 5, French, - r%C3%A9acteur
