Sweet baits(sugar baits) are widely used by collectors of Lepidoptera to attract moths and butterflies to a site where they may be captured... The ingredients used, although varied, include sugar and sugar-rich materials, as well as fruits and alcoholic beverages. It is thought that the attraction and feeding of moths on artificial sugar baits is an indication of their tendency to feed on natural sources of sugars, such as rotting fruit, tree sap, insect honeydew, and flower nectars... 2, record 1, English, - sweet%20bait

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Although the potato psyllid is predominantly a pest of potatoes and tomatoes, it has a wide number of alternate hosts including eggplant, peppers, and common weeds... Potato psyllids, like aphids and leafhoppers, suck plant sap through needlelike mouthparts. They feed in a similar manner to aphids, but instead of producing a shiny film of honeydew on the leaves, their sugary exudate resembles a white powder. The nymphs are the damaging stage because when feeding, they inject a toxin that causes a physiological condition known as "psyllid yellows. "Feeding by this pest not only causes yellowing of the plant, but can also result in loss of vigour and yield due to a combination of reduced fruit set and fruit size. 4, record 4, English, - potato%20psyllid

This definition of honeyflow is not found in the Webster's dictionary, for which "honeyflow" only refers to a supply or [to a] period of availability of floral nectar available for bees to convert into honey(in French :"miellée" for the former and "miellée" or "miellaison" for the latter). It might be an obsolete usage, replaced by the term "honeydew"(q. v., in French :"miellat"), which refers to the saccharine deposit secreted by aphids, scales and sometimes by a fungus that is found on the leaves of many plants. 1, record 10, English, - honeyflow
