RADARSAT-2, Canada's next generation earth observation satellite, is co-funded by the Canadian Space Agency(CSA) and MacDonald Dettwiler... The imaging sensor on the satellite is a C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) capable of operating in a wide variety of imaging modes. All imaging modes of the current RADARSAT-1 satellite will be provided, as well as some new modes that incorporate important innovations and improvements. The horizontal co-polarization(HH) of RADARSAT-1 will be supplemented by options for vertical co-polarization(VV) and cross-polarization(HV or VH), and there will be new Quad-Polarization modes providing fully polarimetric data sets. The other major new mode is referred to as Ultra-Fine, providing swath imaging with resolution of about 3 m in each dimension. Re-visit times will be reduced since all imaging modes will be available either to the left or right sides of the satellite track. 3, record 10, English, - imaging%20sensor

It is based on the principle that if two electrodes are inserted in the ground, and if an external voltage is applied across them, there will be a flow of current through the earth from one electrode to the other. If the medium through which the current flows is homogeneous in its electrical properties, the flow lines will be regular and, in a horizontal plane, symmetrical about the line joining the electrodes. Any inhomogeneities in these properties will cause distortions in the lines of current flow. Such distortions indicate the existence of buried material with higher conductivity than its surroundings, so that it attracts the flow lines toward itself, or with lower conductivity so that it tends to force the lines into the surrounding medium. 1, record 11, English, - equipotential%20line%20method

ACM300-A is the first three-dimensional electromagnetic current meter capable of measuring horizontal and vertical current. The sensor is 20mm in diameter and has many uses such as in complex current experiments, current distribution in a stirrer tub, etc.... The zero point is stable. It has a good range of flow angle. Three-dimensional current analysis is possible with this unique meter. 4, record 13, English, - electromagnetic%20meter

Convective structures. In a sufficiently wide layer, the convection rolls can adopt multiple configurations or "convective patterns" in the horizontal plane. The process of a pattern selection is a complex problem which is the subject of current research. In the case of rectangular containers the pattern can be composed primarily of straight equidistant rolls, whose axes are paralled to the shorter sides of the rectangle. We can see in such a structure an analogy to a one-dimensional crystal. 1, record 16, English, - convective%20structure

1, record 16, French, - structure%20convective

Horizontal Rotary-Atomizing Burner.... The burner consists of an atomizing or spinner cup, and air blower, and a region in which the air and oil are mixed. The cup, which is mounted on a horizontal motor shaft, is revolved at a speed of 3, 450 revolutions per minute or higher. The oil fed to the cup is atomized by whirling the oil off the edge of the cup. As the oil droplets leave the edge, they are caught up in a horizontal air current from the blower. The resulting fuel-air mixture is ignited by a gas pilot near the cup, and the flame is projected horizontally. 2, record 17, English, - horizontal%20rotary%20cup%20oil%20burner
