(...) it does not emphasize what can happen in severe depression when the liquidity-preference curve is practically horizontal because interest rates are already so low that people are quite indifferent whether they hold M or the near-M government Treasury Bills that the Fed wants to swap for M.

OBS

Subject field(s)
  • Aircraft Piloting and Navigation
CONT

Wheelbarrowing is a condition that arises when the nosewheel rather than the main gear is forced to support an abnormal share of the aircraft’s weight. Touching down on the nosewheel, excessive braking, or friction between the wheels and runway caused by a side-skid may cause wheelbarrowing. Wheelbarrowing can damage a nosewheel or cause an aircraft to yaw uncontrollably off its intended course..

OBS

During take-off, "wheelbarrowing" may occur at lower speeds than during landing due to the slipstream increasing the lifting effect of the horizontal stabilizer. The use of excessive forward elevator control pressure during take-off to hold the aircraft on the ground to speeds above normal take-off speed could, if a "yaw" force is introduced, result in serious wheelbarrowing.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Pilotage et navigation aérienne
CONT

DEF

A heavy, chain-type flexible conveyor capable of being advanced with the face without dismantling.

OBS

It is designed to carry a coal-cutter or cutter-loader or to guide and hold a plough against the face. It may be advanced by horizontal hydraulic rams which are fixed at about 20 ft intervals on the waste side of the conveyor. It is often employed on prop-free-front faces with hand filling, and has a capacity of about 200-300 t. p. h.

OBS

The A.F.C. was developed in Germany by the Gewerkschaft Eisenhutte Westfalia during W.W.2. A few units were tried out in Britain shortly after the war and by the sixties they were being installed on all the major "longwall" faces in Britain. ... DEF

Convoyeur à raclettes très résistant.

CONT

The in-line press consists of separate color stations in a horizontal line. As in the other types of press, all stations are driven by a common line shaft. These presses can print large web widths with designs that are not critical with respect to register; they can hold register on narrow web presses when color stations are close to each other, as in small label presses. In-line presses are commonly used for bags, corrugated board, folding boxes, and similar products.
