Record 1 2012-01-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Roofs (Building Elements)
  • Plans and Specifications (Construction)
  • Tolerances and Modular Co-ordination (Construction)
CONT

Both an acceptable membrane underlayment or insulation and the EPDM [ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer] membrane are laid loose over the substrate and held in place with a minimum of 10 pounds of ballast per square foot. Adjoining sheets of EPDM membrane are seamed together a minimum of 3 inches using Primer and QA Seam Tape, OR Primer, Seam Adhesive, in-Seam Sealant and Lap Sealant. The maximum roof slope for this roofing system is 2 inches to one horizontal foot.

OBS

maximum slope: term officially approved by the Lexicon Project Committee (New Brunswick).

  • Devis, cahiers des charges et plans (Construction)
  • Calcul, tolérances et modulation (Construction)
CONT

[...] la pente d'un toit, c'est le rapport entre son élévation et sa course. [...] les pentes minimales et maximales [sont déterminées] par le Code national du bâtiment.

OBS

Subject field(s)
  • Construction Materials
  • Waterproofing (Construction)
  • Roofs (Building Elements)
CONT

EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. Engineering specifications describe EPDM as "ideal for outdoor applications because of its excellent resistance to ultra-violet light, ozone, oxidants, and severe weather conditions." EPDM rubber roofing membrane is made to last 20 years or longer ...

CONT

The Versigard Ballasted Roofing System incorporates. 045 inch or. 060 inch thick black non-reinforced or reinforced EPDM membrane. Both an acceptable membrane underlayment or insulation and the EPDM membrane and are laid loose over the substrate and held in place with a minimum of 10 pounds of ballast per square foot.

OBS

EPDM membrane: term officially approved by the Lexicon Project Committee (New Brunswick).

Domaine(s)
  • Matériaux de construction
  • Étanchéité (Construction)
  • Toitures (Éléments du bâtiment)
CONT

Membranes EPDM.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Masonry Practice
DEF

A construction work composed of elements containing air voids.

CONT

Impact sound insulation [can be] determined by laboratory testing. A standard "tapping machine" is set to operate on a horizontal steel plate which rests against the test specimen. The sound transmission through the wall is then measured and the impact sound levels are converted to normalised levels using a reference equivalent absorption area of 1. 0 m². Adequate impact sound insulation is achieved if the performance of the test specimen is equivalent to, or better than, the performance of a cavity brick construction under the same test conditions.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Maçonnerie
OBS

corps creux : matériau de maçonnerie moulé comportant une proportion importante de vides d'air : blocs, briques creuses, et surtout hourdis creux pour entrevous de planchers.
