Hand hoists are chain operated. There are four types : spur geared, worm geared, differential, and pull-lift or lever. The last, with its lever for operation and its ratchet for holding, is the simplest and most economical. However, since the operating lever is located on the anchor end of the hoist, it is not as convenient for vertical lifting as it is for horizontal pulling. 2, record 1, English, - pull%2Dlift%20hoist

Palans à bras. Ils sont de plusieurs sortes. [...] Les palans à rochet permettent de lever ou de tirer des charges dans n'importe quelle direction. Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Wheelbarrowing is a condition that arises when the nosewheel rather than the main gear is forced to support an abnormal share of the aircraft’s weight. Touching down on the nosewheel, excessive braking, or friction between the wheels and runway caused by a side-skid may cause wheelbarrowing. Wheelbarrowing can damage a nosewheel or cause an aircraft to yaw uncontrollably off its intended course.. 2, record 2, English, - wheelbarrowing
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
During take-off, "wheelbarrowing" may occur at lower speeds than during landing due to the slipstream increasing the lifting effect of the horizontal stabilizer. The use of excessive forward elevator control pressure during take-off to hold the aircraft on the ground to speeds above normal take-off speed could, if a "yaw" force is introduced, result in serious wheelbarrowing. 3, record 2, English, - wheelbarrowing

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
2, record 2, French, - brouettage
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
3, record 2, French, - brouettage

ISAS utilizes "aerodynamic lifting bodies" to conduct space research and observations, and is developing launch vehicles and satellites for such purposes. In its former guise as part of Tokyo University Institute of Industrial Science in 1955, the organization conducted the horizontal flight tests of pencil rockets, and as Tokyo University Aerospace Research Center, it launched Japan's first artificial satellite, Ohsumi, in 1970. These entities disappeared in 1981 in a "progressive amalgamation" under the direct control of the Ministry of Education. The head office of ISAS is at Sagamigahara in Kanagawa Prefecture, and the test range is at Uchinoura in Kagoshima Prefecture. 3, record 7, English, - Institute%20of%20space%20%26%20astronautical%20Science

A boom derrick is a lifting device that incorporates the advantages of a gin pole and the long horizontal reach of a boom. Use the boom derrick to lift and swing medium-size loads in a 90-degree arc on either side of the resting position of the boom, for a total swing of 180 degrees. When employing a boom derrick in lifting heavy loads, set it on a turn plate or turn wheel to allow the mast and boom to swing as a unit. A mast is a gin pole used with a boom.
