RADARSAT-2 will be capable of transmitting horizontal(H) and vertical(V) polarizations and, depending on the selected mode, the sensor will receive either H or V signals or both of the signals simultaneously. Therefore, in addition to providing complete RADARSAT-1 continuity, RADARSAT-2 will generate products with VV polarization, cross-polarization(HV or VH), dual-polarization(HH+HV or VV+VH) or quad-polarization(HH+VV+HV+VH) over a range of spatial resolutions. 3, record 5, French, - mode%20double%20polarisation

When both the amplitude and the phase information are available, it is possible to synthesize the polarization response for all the polarization states. To synthesize the response, phase information and two orthogonal(transmit and receive) polarization states are required. For example, most spaceborne SAR's(e. g. RADARSAT-2) use the HH and VV polarization configuration to satisfy the orthogonality condition. Three dimensional polarization response plots are typically used to illustrate the polarimetry response for a given target. The following conventions are commonly used : The radar response is normalized between 0 and 1 [. ] The horizontal axes are the ellipticity angle... and the orientation angle... The ellipticity angle ranges between-45°(right circularly polarized) and +45°(left circularly polarized). When [ellipticity angle equals 0°, we have linear polarization. The orientation angle... is usually defined between-90° and +90°, but is sometimes defined between 0° and +180°. 2, record 7, English, - ellipticity%20angle

Typical bandwidths for an imaging radar are in the range 10 to 200 MHz. At the Earth's surface, the energy in the radar pulse is scattered in all directions, with some reflected back toward the antenna. This back scatter returns to the radar as a weaker radar echo and is received by the antenna in a specific polarization(horizontal or vertical, not necessarily the same as the transmitted pulse), for later processing and display as an image. 4, record 8, English, - SAR%20imaging%20radar

A radar that produces two-dimensional images; the two dimensions are called range, and azimuth. 2, record 10, English, - imaging%20radar
Record number: 10, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Typical bandwidths for an imaging radar are in the range 10 to 200 MHz. At the Earth's surface, the energy in the radar pulse is scattered in all directions, with some reflected back toward the antenna. This backscatter returns to the radar as a weaker radar echo and is received by the antenna in a specific polarization(horizontal or vertical, not necessarily the same as the transmitted pulse). These echoes are converted to digital data and passed to a data recorder for later processing and display as an image. 3, record 10, English, - imaging%20radar
