Scanning laser ophthalmoscopy is an imaging technique that mimics essential features of conventional fundus photography but has better spatial selectivity for the plane of interest in the fundus. Because [a scanning laser ophthalmoscope] picks up information only from a small volume in three-dimensional space at any given time and then reconstructs an image from a three-dimensional scanning array of such points, scatter and fluorescence from the anterior segment of the eye is very effectively rejected. Built on the flying-spot scanner principle, it only illuminates a spot with a diameter of a few micrometers at the fundus and then sweeps the spot across the horizontal and vertical directions of an image plane inside the eye... 8, record 1, English, - scanning%20laser%20ophthalmoscopy

When the beam has returned to the left side, its vertical position is lowered so that the beam will scan the next line down and not repeat the same line. This is accomplished by the vertical scanning motion of the beam, which is provided in addition to horizontal scanning. 3, record 7, French, - balayage%20conique

Depending on the spatial arrangement of the detectors, the relative calibration error may be constant in one spatial direction. For example, a linear array of detectors may cause relative errors across the image, but since the rest of the image is formed by the motion of the sensor platform, the relative error is constant down the columns of the image. This may cause a vertical striping effect. Or, for a line scanning detector array, the striping may be horizontal as was found in early Landsat MSS sensors. Thus, in implementing the calibration error model, the type and arrangement of detectors must be considered. 2, record 10, English, - striping%20effect

3, record 10, French, - effet%20pyjama

When the requirements of television were first established, it was necessary to decide on a standard repetition rate for showing complete pictures, that is the number of complete frames per second. It was finally decided that thirty complete pictures would be displayed on the screen each second. These complete pictures are referred to as frames. A frame frequency of only thirty pictures per second would result in a flicker discernible to the eye, so each picture is divided into two parts called fields. Two fields must be produced in order to make one complete picture or frame. 3, record 15, English, - frame

The number of horizontal scanning lines in a field is one-half the total 525 lines for a complete frame, since one field contains every other line. This yields 262 1/2 horizontal lines for each vertical field. Since the time for a field is 1/60 s and since it contains 262 1/2 lines, the number of lines per second is 262 1/2 lines, the number of lines per second is 262 1/2 X 60=15, 750. 3, record 18, English, - horizontal%20repetition%20rate
