The off-gas is treated(if necessary) by vapour phase carbon treatment. The advantages of multi-phase extraction & treatment include : a high product to groundwater extraction ratio; aeration of the vadose zone which enhances natural biodegradation of the hydrocarbon contaminants; all treatment components may be housed in a turn-key mobile remedial unit; a simple product recovery technology which can be transferred to conventional remedial applications such as pump and treat, sparging and vapour extraction system(VES) applications. Demonstrations of this technology are routinely available upon request.

Virga is frequently seen trailing from altocumulus and altostratus clouds, but also is discernible below the bases of high-level cumuliform clouds from which precipitation is falling into a dry subcloud layer. It typically exhibits a hooked form in which the streaks descend nearly vertically just under the precipitation source but appear to be almost horizontal at their lower extremities. Such curvature of virga can be produced simply by effects of strong vertical wind shear, but ordinarily it results from the fact that droplet or crystal evaporation decreases the particle terminal fall velocity near the ends of the streaks. Under some conditions, virga are associated with dry microbursts, which are formed as a product of the evaporation.

Horizontal Rotary Cup Oil Burners. This type of burner atomizes the oil by spinning it in a thin film from a horizontal rotating cup and injecting high velocity primary air into the oil film through an annular nozzle which surrounds the rim of the atomizing cup. This atomizing cup and frequently the primary air fan are mounted on a horizontal main shaft which is motor driven and rotates at constant speed, 58 to 100 r/s depending on the size and make of burner. The oil is fed to the atomizing cup at controlled rates from an oil pump which is usually driven from the main shaft through a worm and gear.
