As food enters the intestines for digestion, the peptide hormone cholecystokinin(CCK) stimulates the vagus nerve to send a satiety signal to the brain. The vagus nerve is therefore sensitive to stomach distension and CCK levels, as well as other factors related to food consumption. It communicates these satiety signals to the brain, and reduces food consumption. Other satiety signals operate over a longer time scale. The most important of these is the hormone leptin..., which is released mostly from adipose cells... The more fat in the cells, the more leptin is released into the bloodstream. Unilateral eyestalk ablation has been widely implemented in aquaculture to accelerate the gonadal maturation and consequently increase the seed production of shrimp broodstock... This technique removes one eyestalk, which hosts the sinus-organ X that produces hormones such as the gonad inhibiting hormone. These hormones are responsible for accelerating maturation and leads to predictable peaks of maturation and spawning that facilitates the setting up of production schedules... This practice, however, has been associated with high broodstock mortalities and poor-quality offspring... 2, record 31, English, - unilateral%20eyestalk%20ablation

Androgen-binding protein(ABP) is synthesized by the Sertoli cell in the testis, where ~80% is secreted into the luminal fluid and the other ~20% is secreted into the interstitial compartment and taken up into the systemic circulation. ABP binds testosterone and transports it in the seminiferous tubule fluid to the epididymis, where it is taken up by a receptor-mediated process into the principal cells of the initial segment and caput epididymis. Once released from ABP, the testosterone is converted to [dihydrotestosterone](DHT) by the epithelial 5α-reductase. ABP is very similar in structure to sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG), which is synthesized in the liver and binds testosterone in the peripheral blood. ABP has been identified in rat, dog, monkey, and human. 1, record 33, English, - androgen%2Dbinding%20protein

Most prostate cancer cells depend on hormones to grow. Hormones such as gonadotropin releasing hormone(GnRH) or luteinizing hormone releasing hormone(LHRH) are released from the hypothalamus gland in the brain. When these hormones are released, they promote the testicles to produce the male hormone, testosterone. Androgen Deprivation Therapy(ADT) deprives prostate cancer cells of the male hormones(known as androgens) that cancer cells require in order to grow. ADT is the most common therapy used in men with advanced prostate cancer. 3, record 74, English, - androgen%20deprivation%20therapy

3, record 82, French, - goitre%20multinodulaire

Adrenaline increases your heart rate, elevates your blood pressure and boosts energy supplies. Cortisol, the primary stress hormone, increases sugars(glucose) in the bloodstream, enhances your brain's use of glucose and increases the availability of substances that repair tissues. Cortisol also curbs functions that would be nonessential or detrimental in a fight-or-flight situation. It alters immune system responses and suppresses the digestive system, the reproductive system and growth processes. Hyperparathyroidism is overactivity of the parathyroid glands resulting in excess production of parathyroid hormone(PTH). The parathyroid hormone regulates calcium and phosphate levels and helps to maintain these levels. Excessive PTH secretion may be due to problems in the glands themselves, in which case it is referred to as primary hyperparathyroidism and which leads to hypercalcaemia(raised calcium levels). 3, record 88, English, - primary%20hyperparathyroidism
