Horseshoe Canada was formed at the 1979 annual general meeting in Ottawa and is the continuation of the Canadian or Dominion Association which was founded in 1929 by Walter Kane.

Horseshoe pitching is a popular sport in Canada and the United States. Many parks have horseshoe courts.... There is a pitching box at each end of the court. The steel or iron stakes are centered in the box, in a clay bed, and lean toward the player.

Canada Orchard Run is the grade name for cherries that have dry circular or horseshoe stem end cracks not extending beyond the stem bowl, but in all other respects comply with the requirements of Canada Domestic grade. All grades of cherries require that the cherries be mature, handpicked, sound, of one variety, properly packed, free from damage and free from insects, insect larva, insect injury, disease, gum, twigs, leaves and dried specimens. In addition, Canada No. 1 grade requires that the cherries also be fairly clean, of good colour, of fair size, table graded, free from hail marks and in the case of Elkhorn or Lambert varieties not more than 15% of the fruit without stems, and in the case of other varieties, not more than 10% of the fruit without stems. Canada Domestic and Canada Orchard Run grades require that the cherries be reasonably clean, and of fair colour, in addition to the requirements given above.

Toutes les catégories de cerises exigent que les cerises soient parvenues à maturité, cueillies à la main, saines, d'une même variété, convenablement emballées, exemptes d'avaries et exemptes d'insectes, de larves d'insectes (vers), de blessures causées par les insectes, de maladies, gomme, brindilles (branches), feuilles et spécimens desséchés. De plus, la catégorie Canada No. 1 exige que les cerises soient raisonnablement propres, de bonne couleur, de grosseur passable, classées pour la table, exemptes de marques de grêle, et pour les variétés Elkhorn et Lambert, elles ne doivent pas avoir plus de 15 pour cent des fruits sans pédoncules tandis que pour les autres variétés, pas plus de 10 pour cent des fruits sans pédoncules. Les catégories Canada Domestiques et Canada Tout-venant exigent que les cerises soient raisonnablement propres et de couleur passable en plus des exigences mentionnées ci-dessus.
