Stockings (or hose) or hose tops were ... worn on the lower leg. The hose tops were a derivation of the knitted stockings which emerged not from tradition but convenience. When the toes and heels of a soldier’s stockings wore away he would cut them back until eventually he would be left with a saddle where the sole of his stocking once was. When this too wore away he was left with nothing but the upper portion of his stocking, preserved today as hose tops, an item of dress still issued to highland soldiers in the modern Australian army.

Utilizing the DC3 chassis, the PNX-TL600 lavatory truck is designed to service all sizes of commercial aircraft. A man lift option is required to service wide body aircraft. The unit uses a two tank system for lavatory service. The waste tank and flush tank are separate components fabricated from 304 stainless steel and are baffled in both directions. A hinged cleanout cover is provided on the waste tank for easy access to the dump valve to remove impediments. The waste tank has a tray to store the waste hose and prevent spillage of waste onto the top of the unit.

Surface application is one of the approved methods for application of liquid fumigants. Surface application is effective for treating top infestations such as grain moths or secondary beetles in flat storages. Flat storages and annexes can be treated only by surface applications, applying the liquid fumigants under pressure. A power sprayer with a 12 ro 25 millimetre diameter hose and a fine spray nozzle is used to control surface infestations of moths.

OBS

Even distribution of a fumigant is important, requiring that grain in flat storages be levelled prior to application. This does not apply in the case of moth infestation, since levelling will mix the moths with other uncontaminated grain.
