HOT AIR BLOWER [8 records]

Record 1 2004-04-16

English

Subject field(s)
  • Solid Fuel Heating
DEF

Any of certain centrifugal devices for separating solid material from gases or liquids ....

CONT

The equipment included in these [storage] systems is as follows : Raw coal feeder, an air-swept pulverizer, an exhauster or blower, a source of hot air or flue gas, piping, a cyclone separator, a dust collector, vent fan, air lock, and transport system.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chauffage aux combustibles solides
CONT

Cyclones.

Record 2 2000-04-28

English

Subject field(s)
  • Burners and Steamfitting
DEF

A power burner in which the air and gas are mixed, under pressure, in a motor-driven blower. Simultaneous modulation of air and gas allows adjustment of the air-fuel ratio over a wide range, so an extremely short hot flame can be produced.

OBS

See record "premix burner."

Record 3 2000-04-28

English

Subject field(s)
  • Burners and Steamfitting
DEF

A gas burner in which the gas and air are mixed before they are introduced into the combustion chamber. Usually, the gas and air are both fed into a fan or blower, and the mixture is then blown into the combustion chamber. A premix burner burns with a short, hot flame with high heat release. Examples are Mechanical-premix, Fanmix, and Zero-Governor Burners.

CONT

In a premix burner, gas and primary air are mixed together, and the mixture is then introduced into secondary air in the combustion zone.

Key term(s)
  • pre-mix burner

French

Domaine(s)
  • Fumisterie et brûleurs
DEF

CONT

2.3 Brûleurs à prémélange. 2.31 Brûleurs à prémélange air-gaz sous pression. [...] 2.32 Brûleurs à prémélange à gaz seul sous pression.

  • Hair Styling
CONT

Styling combs operate in much the same manner. A miniature heating element and blower motor(contained in the unit's handle) pull room air in at one end and force hot air out where the comb... is located.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Joints and Connections (Construction)
  • Man-Made Construction Materials
  • Technical Textiles
OBS

There are a number of thermal [seaming] methods that can be used on thermoplastic geomembrane materials. Hot air uses a machine consisting of a resistance heater, a blower, and temperature controls to blow between two sheets to actually melt the surfaces. Usually, temperatures greater than 500 °F are required. Immediately following the melting of the surfaces, pressure by rollers is applied.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Joints et assemblages (Construction)
  • Matériaux de construction artificiels
  • Textiles techniques
OBS

Subject field(s)
  • Facilities and Equipment (Wood Industries)
  • Reconstituted-Wood Products
OBS

The Büttner Jet Dryer... consists of a stationary drying chamber, a blower arranged behind the drying to throw the particles into a cyclone, inlet and outlet rotary air locks, the furnace, and the connecting ductwork. This dryer has a fluidized bed with the material being fed into the drying chamber(drums) at one end. Hot air is blown into the drum from the bottom and subsequently flows through the bed of material. The furnish is moved forward by rotating raker arms with the material constantly spinning and rotating.

  • Ovens, Furnaces and Boilers (Heating)
CONT

Forced Air Wood Furnaces. Central wood-burning furnaces are controlled by a wall mounted thermostat in the living area. Temperature and fan controls are the same as those found on oil and gas furnaces. Unlike room heaters, which produce a steady heat output by periodic manual adjustments of the draft control, most wood furnaces operate in cycles. A cycle starts with the thermostat sensing that heat is needed in the room where it is located. It signals the furnace control system which opens the combustion air damper and a hot fire develops. When the air inside the furnace's sheet metal casing gets hot, a preset fan control starts the circulating blower and the warm air is moved through the ducts to all areas of the house.
