Thermo-osmotic energy conversion(TOEC) is an emerging process that efficiently extracts energy from low-grade heat sources. By utilizing a temperature gradient, TOEC induces a partial vapor pressure difference across a hydrophobic membrane. This pressure gradient drives the vapor from the hot feed side through the membrane's pores to the cold permeate side. The movement of water from the hot feed side to the permeate side of the membrane results in excess fluid in the cold reservoir, generating a pressurized flow that can be harnessed to drive a turbine and generate electricity. 1, record 1, English, - thermo%2Dosmotic%20energy%20conversion

Combustion Override Split Production Horizontal Well Process(COSH). The main feature of this process, developed by the Alberta Research Council(ARC), is implementation of gravity drainage using a basal horizontal well in a combustion process. The configuration of different wells is critical to the operation of this process. A linear configuration of vertical air injection wells is drilled and completed in the upper portion of the reservoir. A horizontal oil production well is completed in the bottom of the reservoir, aligned and positioned beneath the vertical injection wells. The reservoir is prepared for ignition and combustion is initiated at each of the injection wells. A hot fluid-transmissive chamber is formed around each of the injection wells as combustion proceeds. Combustion gas communication is established with the gas production wells. Heated oil and water, produced by the combustion front in each hot chamber, drains under the effect of gravity and is brought to the surface through the horizontal production well. 3, record 3, English, - combustion%20override%20split%20production%20horizontal%20well%20process

In partnership with the Alberta Oilsands Technical Authority(AOSTRA) in 1979 the pressure cycle steam drive system was developed. Seismic Monitoring of "Hot" and "Cold" Heavy Oil Production.... The application of seismic monitoring for "cold flow" mapping is even more challenging. In "cold flow" heavy oil production of oil sands, we see the development of high porosity zones known as "wormholes". These high porosity zones are much smaller than a seismic wavelength so their detection will be extremely difficult. Nevertheless, it is interesting to speculate whether time-lapse seismology has a role to play in the reservoir characterization of "cold flow" as well as in steam injection.... Emerging Interest in Seismic Monitoring of "Cold Flow" and "Wormholes". In addition to the production of heavy oil from the steam injection in Pikes Peak field, there is production from "cold flow" heavy oil fields in the surrounding areas. In the "cold flow" production process, oil and sand are simultaneously produced in unconsolidated heavy oil reservoirs by using non-thermal extraction. 2, record 9, English, - cold%20flow%20production

1, record 9, French, - production%20froide%20des%20huiles%20visqueuses

Certain types of hot spring or steam vent have been described by Tonani as ’leakage manifestations’(Tonani, 1970). He suggested that water boiling at depth in a deep reservoir could pass up to the surface through a fault(often an active one) much as it would pass up a well. This water would flash into steam and may condense by cooling near the surface. 1, record 16, English, - leakage%20manifestations
